RIH-WIND

Hey guys!

Sorry it's been so long since I've blogged... I know these are the most common excuses BUT i've had tonnes to do and tonnes to think about!
Anyway... I've been dying to write a post on the Rihanna for River Island range that came out early March. When I heard she had been designing for River Island, I was super excited to see what she could bring in for this Spring.

However, as I scrolled through the online site, all I saw were extremely boring and casual clothes! Don't get me wrong, a lot of the stuff was nice, especially the split motif she's used in a bunch of bottoms and tops, but they come across like you could buy them from any old high street shop! For me, nothing shouts out "exciting, edgy, different" - 3 adjectives I think anyone would use to describe Rihanna herself!

I must admit though, I adore the thigh-high split skirt ;)

Here are a few items left on the site:

Yes,.they are nice, and yes, they are fashionable, but COME ON RIHANNA, wheres the wow-factor?!?!

What do you guys think?

NOT-SO-NUDE NAILS

As much as I love doing my nails, I am the biggest culprit at letting them chip and not be asked to go and take it all off and start again, so they're usually 'nude'. But yesterday, my niece introduced my to the Nail Effect varnish by Barry M which I thought I'd give a go.

Honest opinion? Loved the colour, but not so fond of the texture. It felt like I hadn't painted them properly - which is normally the case anyway! - and that I had stuff stuck on my nails and painted over them! Maybe after a while it'll grow on me, but I took a few shots of the finished product anyway!

What do you guys think?

JEAN QUEEN

Today was the kind of day where I had absolutely NO idea what to wear. So, as I frantically tried to dig up the back of my wardrobe, a smile sprawled across my face as I found and pulled out a cute jean dress I had received as a present a few years back from H&M

As much as it was a little tight across the chest, and I felt that I was literally about to pop buttons everywhere, I thought that I had to give the spring sunshine some justice by wearing it! Jack Frost was still hiding outside though as that crisp cold surely bit me on the ass on my way out, so I teamed up the dress with
 - an Aztec print cardigan from Pippa Dee at Dorothy Perkins
 - black tights
 - black ankle socks
 - black Topshop Chelsea boots
 - and my trusty sidekick, Fiorelli Tan bag

And what says 'a sunny day' more than a bright pink lipstick?!

ICON

Following on from my post on her appearance in VOGUE's new issue, I thought it was more than necessary to reveal to you all my absolute obsession with superstar-singing-acting-allroundamazing-mum Beyonce.
Ever since I was a little girl, I've been in love with her music, her style, her voice...everything. It would be a dream come true to meet her!

After browsing through her photoshoot with Vogue, it got me reminiscing about Bey's style throughout the years. Recently, I've been 'umming' and 'ahhhing' over how to style my hair next, and then I remembered the Deja Vu video... now, I don't know about anyone else, but I LOVED everything about this video! The clothes, the vocals, the beat and of course the incredible hair which I am thinking of attempting! Dare I try? What do you guys think?

Here are a couple snaps from the video, but definitely watch the whole thing here if you haven't!

SUNNY WINTERS

LOCATION: WALKS IN THE CRISPY SUN

It's got to that time of year when Spring is slowly creeping in on the never-ending Winter; that time of year when you wake up in the morning, see the sun beaming through your window and you think 'I can wear a short sleeve and thin leggings now!'; that time of year when the reality is that it's still as cold as a hot water bottle in the morning.

SO...how to tackle this misleading weather?! I took a few shots of my Brother-in-law before he took his cute little family out for lunch/dinner, and my gorgeous Boyfriend and myself on walk through the park, demonstrating how to rock the morning and afternoon of a mixed-weathered day!

QUEEN B

I know this post doesn't really fit into the topic of my blog, but hey, this is just a mixture of all things fashionable and beautiful, and the pictures you are about to see are undoubtedly BEYutiful!

Ladies and Gentleman, I present to you the absolutely STUNNING Beyonce for Vogue, March 2013!

ROSES ARE RED: WORK ON VALENTINES DAY

Happy Valentine's Day all!

And what a perfect day for the colour red! I've always been cautious about wearing such a bright colour, but today is a must.

LOCATION: WORK, DOROTHY PERKINS
Wherever you work, I think today is more than just a mere excuse to add a dash of Red or Burgundy to your clothing. This deep and daring colour reflects  more than just what Cupid calls love: if your Valentines consists of a bottle of wine to yourself and the biggest box of chocolates you could ever imagine, then Red represents a fierce and confident shade. Perfect for the couples and the not-so couples!

For work today, I wore a statement burgundy skater skirt from Primark with a black metallic jumper, black tights and black Chelsea boots, so the skirt really stood out.

And yes, I am holding a red heart-shaped balloon. My boyfriend is so lucky!
